Instagram page Build The Earth recently shared a project that aims to build a 1:1 model of the Earth in Minecraft, a popular video game where players build virtual worlds.  The page posted images of famous spots around the world, one of which was our very own Taj Mahal. The page has garnered praise for its incredible photos.

Mithali Raj played calmly and competently, finishing the series as the highest run-scorer, as well as rising to become one of the highest run-scorers in women’s international matches, overall.

Behind Every Successful Woman, There is Another Woman

Sphoorti, a Network Leader in Bangalore, has started an initiative to bring women who have resigned during the pandemic back to work. There has always been pressure on women to balance their professional and personal lives, and in these uncertain times, that pressure has only increased. Spoorthi reached out to the families of these women and explained the importance of them working, even connecting them to other families who were sharing work equitably. The inspiring story was shared by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, who commended Spoorthi for showing up for her community.

Talent in these Trying Times

RD Burman, one of the most legendary music directors of our country, would have celebrated his 82nd birthday this past Sunday. In the sea of various tributes shared by loving fans all over the internet, one, in particular, stood out – a video of a street musician playing a captivating cover of one of Burman’s hits. The video quickly gained tens of thousands of views on Twitter, and was even shared by Bollywood director Kunal Kohli. Twitter users recognised the area of the performance as Panvel, Mumbai as many expressed the desire to help the artist in these trying times.

The Charming Crabs

This past Monday, IFS (Indian Forest Service) officer Sudha Ramen shared a delightful video through her Twitter account. In a stunning show of nature’s creations, the video depicts a cast of brightly-coloured male crabs performing a highly synchronized mating dance in order to impress female crabs. The video went viral and garnered over a hundred thousand views as of now, eliciting a great response from netizens who were fascinated by the precise movement of the little animals. During such uncertain times in our world, it certainly helps to look at nature’s small yet enduring wonders.
