Vijay Diwas
- December 16, 2022
On December 16, 1971, the Indian army defeated Pakistan after thirteen days of battle, which led to the formation of Bangladesh as an independent nation. To commemorate this victory, Vijay Diwas is celebrated annually in India on 16 December. The day is observed not only to pay tribute to the soldiers martyred during the war, but also to honour the courage, dedication and sacrifices of our armed forces.
