Third Gold

20-year-old Weightlifter, Achinta Sheuli won the gold medal in the men’s 73kg category, by lifting a total of 313kg, at the Commonwealth Games 2022, on 31 July, 2022. It was a third gold for India as the 27-year-old Saikhom Mirabai Chanu and 19-year-old Jeremy Lalrinnunga won the gold medal in the women’s 49kg weight lifting category and men’s 67kg category, respectively, on the first two days of the tournament. So far, India has won three gold medals, two silver and one bronze, in the tournament.
