Storming into the Semifinals

Indian boxer Sumit entered the semifinals of the Thailand Open in the 75kg category, after defeating Timur Nurseitov in Phuket, Thailand, on April 5, 2022. With this win, Sumit became the fourth Indian to enter the semifinals. India’s Ashish Kumar (81kg), Monika (48kg) and Manisha (57kg) have already qualified for the semifinals. In 2019, India had won eight medals, including one gold, four silver, and three bronze medals, in the tournament.
