Revival of Rare Crafts

Rajat Kumar Panigrahi, a lecturer from Nuapada district in Odisha, has travelled to nearly 1000 villages in the region, to document rare crafts and art forms. He documented them on his YouTube channel, ‘Matir Kala’. Some of his recordings include folk-instrument makers of Nuapada, Ghumra dance of Kalahandi, Dalkhai folk dance of Bargarh, the folk culture of Chuktia Bhunjia tribe of Nuapada and the folk dance of Sambalpur.
