Medical student Mahendra Rathore of Harsaur, a town in Rajasthan, has been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic to better menstrual hygiene in rural regions. The son of a social worker, Mahendra cites his late mother as his inspiration for this mission to raise awareness and distribute free sanitary napkins to women. Despite facing many challenges regarding funding and attitudes towards menstruation, he continues to power through to pay tribute to his mother’s vision.
