Project Cheetah

The Cheetah, the fastest animal on the earth, was declared extinct in India about 70 years ago. Now, the reintroduction of the Cheetah in India, is being done under an initiative, titled ‘Project Cheetah’. The Kuno-Palpur National Park (KPNP) in Madhya Pradesh, is all set to welcome eight cheetahs under an agreement signed earlier this year, between the Governments of India and Namibia. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, will release the cheetahs in the national park located in Sheopur district, Madhya Pradesh, on 17 September, 2022.
