India’s Ricky Kej won his second Grammy for his album ‘Divine Tides’ along with Stewart Copeland, in the Best New Age Album category at the 64th Grammy Awards held in Las Vegas. The Bangalore-based music composer won his first Grammy Award for his album, Winds of Samsara, in the Best New Age Album category, in 2015. Ricky Kej was born in North Carolina, USA, but moved with his family to Bangalore, India, at the age of eight.
The residents of Ramgarh District, Jharkhand, have been creating opportunities for themselves by introducing fish farming in the coal mines of the Central Coal Fields Limited (CCL), which had been abandoned, for the past 10-12 years. Madhvi Mishra, the Deputy Commissioner of Ramgarh, said that the initiative created a new source of livelihood for the residents of Ramgarh as there were no alternate sources of income, especially for women, in the coal mine areas.
33-year-old Aromal Padmajayan and 41-year-old Ivin Gancius, two entrepreneurs from Kerala, are on a mission to produce electric auto-rickshaws through their EV (electric vehicle) startup. Their startup is called Eternium Locomotion & Navigation Pvt Ltd and is in Thiruvananthapuram. They launched the prototype of the vehicle on 24 March, 2022. This is the first time an Indian startup is on the verge of producing e-vehicles commercially.

On March 28, 2022, the Science fiction movie Dune won six awards including the Best Visual Effects and received ten nominations, at the 94th Academy Awards. Namit Malhotra, CEO of DNEG, an Indian VFX company that made visual effects for Dune, won his seventh Academy Award this year at the Oscars. The company has previously won six Academy Awards for Interstellar, Inception, Tenet, First Man, Ex Machina and Blade Runner 2049.
Diya, a student from Bangalore, Karnataka, has recently donated 750 repurposed notebooks to 200 underprivileged children from Classes 1 to 7. The 17-year-old got the idea from her mother’s recycling methods. She upcycled unused paper from her and her friends’ notebooks and rebounded them. Then, she donated the rebounded notebooks to a local government school and the Association of People with Disability (APD).
Indian Shuttler PV Sindhu won the Swiss Open 2022 women’s singles title on March 27, 2022. The two-time Olympic medalist defeated World No. 11 Busanan Ongamrungphan, from Thailand, in 49 minutes, at St. Jakobshalle arena, Switzerland. With this win, the 26-year-old has claimed her second Super 300 title of the year as she had won the Syed Modi International tournament in Lucknow, in January.
