The 102-year-old State Seed Farm in Aluva town, Kerala, is all set to be declared ‘carbon neutral’ by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, on 10 December, 2022. According to the officials’ report, this is the first seed farm in India to achieve a carbon neutral status. The farm, located on Thuruth Island in the Periyar river, has been an organic seed farm since 2012.
