Odisha Day is celebrated every year on April 1. Known as the land of Lord Jagannath, Odisha celebrates this day as Utkal Divas, to commemorate the formation of the state. On 1 April, 1936, Odisha was separated from the Bengal and Bihar province, after three centuries. The state is renowned for its historical significance and great heritage. Jagannath temple is a prominent tourist place in Odisha and famous for its Rath Yatra or Chariot festival.
