It is difficult for former bonded labourers to find work, even after being rescued by the government. To provide livelihood options for rescued bonded labourers, IAS officer Alby John Verghese from Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu, launched ‘Siragugal (Wings) Bricks’, a brick kiln, where workers can make and bake bricks. So far, the initiative has helped over 400 people.
