17-year-old Prem Kumar, from Gonpura village in Phulwari Sharif area, Patna, received a Rs 2.5 Cr scholarship, to complete his education at Lafayette College, in Pennsylvania, United States. The 12th grader has been chosen along with six other students across the globe, for the ‘Dyer Fellowship’ from Lafayette College. Kumar is the first person to attend college in his family and will be pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and International Relations, in the United States.
