22-year-old Anvita Nair recently met Karnataka Health Commissioner, D. Randeep, who welcomed her idea to treat pre and post partum mental health issues faced by women. Nine months ago, Anvita Nair, from Bangalore, Karnataka, started an online petition campaign BeatTheBlues, to help women in their pre and post natal period. She asked the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Karnataka, to make a policy to ensure that every health centre in the state conducts mandatory screening of women during her pregnancy and the postpartum period.
