Green Stores

While on a trip to Europe in 2015, Bittu John Kallingal from Ernakulam, Kerala, came across ‘green stores’ for the first time. Inspired by this, the engineer started a ‘7 to 9 Green Store’ in his hometown, in which every grocery item is sold without using a single piece of plastic. Customers are encouraged to bring their own bags and two per cent discount is offered to those who bring their own containers.
