Historic Convocation

Seventy-year-old Narayana Bhat, was awarded the gold medal by Higher Education Minister, Karnataka, Ashwath Narayan, in the first-ever diploma convocation held in the nation, on 2 November, 2022. Bhat graduated with a score of 94.88 percent, from MES College, Sirsi, Karnataka, along with 106 students. In his statement, the minister said that the decision to conduct the convocation was taken to provide equal recognition for diploma students as the other students, who had taken higher education courses.
