International Tiger Day

International Tiger Day is observed every year on 28 July. According to the World Wildlife Fund, the tiger population has declined over 95% in the past 150 years, with only around 3900  tigers remaining. The day is observed to create awareness about the importance of the conservation of tigers and to expand its habitats. Currently, India has around 70 percent of the world’s tiger population.
