World Tuna Day

- May 2, 2022

World Tuna Day is celebrated every year on May 2. The day is observed to spread awareness about conserving the tuna fish, as it has become an endangered species due to the high demand for their meat. The population of its species has declined by more than 97 percent in the past few years. To save the Tuna from extinction, the United Nations General Assembly, in 2016, voted to observe this day as World Tuna Day.
