On her 73rd death anniversary, India paid tribute to Sarojini Naidu, on March 2, 2022. Known as ‘Bharat Kokila’ or ‘Nightingale of India’, Sarojini Naidu was one of the prominent figures in India’s Independence struggle. Born on 13 February, 1879, Naidu was the first woman to become the governor of Uttar Pradesh. She was also the first Indian woman President of the Indian National Congress in 1925.
