The largest handwoven Indian National flag, made from Khadi and weighing 1000 kg, was unfurled on top of a high mountain overlooking the Leh valley in Ladakh, by Lieutenant Governor R.K. Mathur, on October 2, 2021. The ceremony was held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence and the 152nd Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The flag is made by Khadi Dyers and Printers, of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
