India celebrates Engineer’s Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great Indian engineer, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, on September 15 every year. Engineer’s Day is celebrated to pay tribute to Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya, regarded as the ‘Father of Modern Mysore.’ He constructed the famous Krishna Raja Sagara Dam in the city. He brought significant reforms in banking, education, commerce, agriculture, irrigation and industrialisation.
