The gods were ready for a three-lap race round the earth. The winner would get first pick of the offerings given by devotees. Just as the third round was on, Ganesha turned up. Upset with his laziness, Parvati asked him why he had not joined the race. Ganesha agreed to do so and won! How did he beat all the others!?
