Amar Chitra Katha, founded in 1967, has played a vital role during the formative years of generations of Indians. It was ACK - Amar Chitra Katha - that first gave them a glimpse of their glorious heritage.
Amar Chitra Katha is a collection of illustrated classics that retell stories about Our Heroes spanning Indian history, folktales, legends and mythology. Over 400 stories from all over India have been told in this series that has been endorsed by educationists and recommended by teachers the world over. |

ACK Heroes Programme |

Amar Chitra Katha presents the ACK Heroes Programme, a school workshop for children with a concept which allows them to relate to history through its heroes as well as discover the Hero within themselves.
Though we all study history in schools we don't necessarily learn from it. In this programme, we make history come alive through some of our heroes and the core values they represent. This allows children to learn and understand some of the basic values such as love, truth, bravery, determination & tolerance which they can apply in their day to day lives. |

ACK Heroes Challenge |

As a part of the ACK Heroes Programme, we have an exciting challenge for all of you.
In this challenge, you need to find us a hero on whom Amar Chitra Katha does not have a comic book. You could win a prize and we might even make an ACK Comic on your hero!
You need to make sure that your hero has the following qualities:
1) Has had a positive impact on the society
2) Has changed the course of Indian history
3) Is a part of history i.e. is no longer alive
So friends, if you think you know of such a hero whom you would like to see in a comic book, go ahead and tell us about your hero by submitting your entry.
The last date for all the entries is 25th January, 2009.
The results will be declared in the month of February, 2009. All winners will be intimated accordingly. |
